The Centre aims to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge useful in supporting the educational role of families in the contemporary context.
Our work also aims to contribute to the dissemination of new theoretical and methodological models to support the quality of educational and school services with the aim of consolidating the reflective capacity and educational tools of professionals so that they can relate adequately to gender, ethnic, cultural and social differences that families can bring. In particular, we want to prevent attitudes of homophobia and xenophobia.
The following topics are at the heart of our family research:
- The concept of plurality in the family dimension and peculiarities of contemporary families considering macro social and cultural processes and historical, sociological, economic and demographic variables.
- The characteristics of functional families on the educational level: analysis of protection and risk factors.
- New scenarios of maternity and paternity and the educational functions in conjugal instability: protection factors and risk factors.
- Family education and support to parenthood: theoretical and methodological aspects.
- Scenarios of educational alliances: the pedagogical coordinates for a cooperative relationship between teachers and parents.
- The impact of new communication technologies on family systems and relations with schools and educational services
