Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting

Multiparameteric characterization of single cells, particles and microvescicles

Services Provided

The Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core Facility offers advanced cellular analysis and sorting services to support a wide range of research applications, from basic to translational studies. The facility is equipped with a Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX S flow cytometer, featuring four active lasers (405 nm, 488 nm, 561 nm, and 638 nm) and 13 fluorescence detection channels, enabling highly detailed multiparametric analysis. Typical applications include cell cycle profiling, apoptosis detection, and lymphocyte immunophenotyping, as well as the study of extracellular vesicles and other submicron particles, thanks to the instrument’s high sensitivity and violet laser capabilities.

In addition, the facility houses the Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX SRT Cell Sorter, a compact, high-performance benchtop system designed for 4-way tube mode, and plate mode sorting of up to 10 fluorescence parameters. The CytoFLEX SRT enables isolation of rare cell populations and nanoscale particles (such as bacteria, viruses, and extracellular vesicles) with high precision and recovery efficiency.

Beyond routine analysis and sorting, the Core Facility provides expert technical support, training, and guidance to researchers throughout the experimental workflow, from project design and panel optimization to data acquisition and interpretation.

Applications include:

· Multicolor flow cytometry (up to 13 parameters)

· Cell cycle and apoptosis analysis

· Immunophenotyping of immune cell subsets

· Detection of extracellular vesicles and nanoparticles

· High-speed, high-sensitivity 4-way cell sorting

· Single-cell and clonal population isolation
