A Centre created to share and optimise human, technical, instrumental and economic resources available for applied biomedical research activities
Back in 2001, an important agreement was signed between Policlinico di Sant'Orsola-Malpighi (now IRCCS - Policlinico di Sant'Orsola) and Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna, allowing a fledgling Centre for Applied Biomedical Research (CRBA) to establish itself in the city of Bologna.
Here, between the porticoes and towers, this multidisciplinary laboratory dedicated to applied clinical research is expanding year by year, involving departments within the University, such as DIMEC, DIBINEM, QUVI and FaBiT, and attracting and pampering researchers from all over.
Since January 2018, the direction of our Centre has been appointed to the University of Bologna - the oldest university in the Western world.
Last but not least, CRBA has participated in the recognition of IRCCS ownership to the AOU of Bologna as a Facilities Laboratory in support of the Areas subject to Ministerial Visit and, in March 2021, was certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standards.
