The national assembly of the Democratic Party on 7th May 2017 confirmed Matteo Renzi's leadership of the PD. The assembly was attended by 1000 delegates divided into three groups: 220 supporting the motion by Andrea Orlando, 700 that of Matteo Renzi and 88 that of Michele Emiliano. During the national assembly 215 interviews of elected national delegates were recorded.
