Reliable data on political party positions are essential for studying various aspects of the democratic process, such as electoral competition and government formation.

There are different ways to estimate party positions: interviewing party representatives, analyzing party documents (electoral manifestos, speeches), studying voting behavior in parliament, or asking a group of experts to place parties on different political dimensions.

Expert surveys have long been recognized as a valuable tool for the scientific community. Expert assessments are widely used by researchers both as a reliable source of party positions and to validate estimates obtained through other methods.
