An immersive in-person workshop for early-career professionals to deepen their expertise in coastal resilience, following an advanced hybrid course by DCC-CR

The Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience s in Bertinoro, Italy, for the in-person week of its first hybrid course, Sustainable Coastal Growth and Resilience, designed for early-career professionals working on coastal challenges.
After eight weeks of online learning via the OceanTeacher Global Academy platform, participants are now engaging in five days of intensive, hands-on activities. The program includes teamwork on real-world cases, expert-led lectures, and mentorship from leading professionals such as Nadia Pinardi, Renata Archetti, and Quillon Harpham.
Participants will present their group work and receive feedback from a review panel including Giovanni Coppini and Salvatore Causio.
The week also features a field trip to Rimini, where participants will explore the Rimini Blue Lab, the Optimized Safe Bathing Plan (PSBO) site, and the Parco del Mare, as well as enjoy a guided tour of the Rimini Historical Center.
At the end of the workshop, all participants receive a Certificate of Attendance, while those meeting specific criteria will be awarded an ISO certificate (ISO 29993:2017), accredited by the UNESCO/IOC Project Office for IODE.
This final phase of the course offers a unique opportunity to connect knowledge with practice, and to build lasting collaborations for more resilient coastal futures.
