The Community of Practice Coastal Ecosystem and Community Resilience is a space to discuss and exchange ideas on issues affecting coastal areas around the world, and is now administered by the DCC-CR. Whether you are a researcher delving into phenomena surrounding coastal areas or a practitioner actively involved in engaging coastal communities to promote sustainable adaptation, this community is for you. Here, you can discover colleagues who share your interests, initiate collaborations, and participate in enriching events.

We aim to foster dialogue on specific topics, including those falling under the following themes:

  • Community engagement
  • Place and culture
  • Coastal ecosystems and resilience,

Take the Call for Actions to join the UN Ocean Decade

Anyone can become part of this transformative, 10-year long global movement

Are you working on a project or an initiative, which fits the scope of the Ocean Decade and that would benefit from its endorsement?

The UN Ocean Decade periodically accepts submissions for contributions to be part of the Ocean Decade.

Call for Action 06/2023 – Support Co-Design of New Decade Actions in Africa and Caribbean SIDS

Call for Decade Actions No. 06/2023, launched on 15 October 2023, aims to fill gaps in knowledge and capacity development for Africa and Caribbean SIDS through a tailored and inclusive participatory process to co-design Decade Actions that meet local and regional needs. Recognizing the low levels of engagement and leadership, lack of support in co-design processes and a clear pipeline to funding opportunities for endorsed Decade Actions, the current Call for Decade Actions No. 06/2023 responds to the high demand for transformative ocean science for sustainable development in these regions.

How to take part in Call for Decade Action No. 06/2023

Interested parties should complete and submit the relevant online “Request for Endorsement” available on the Ocean Decade Network. Please note that there are several different online forms and different deadlines depending on the type of Action you are submitting.

If you want to learn more about how to join this global endeavour, contact us or check out the latest call on the Ocean Decade website.
