How we are organized

The structures and groups working for coastal resilience.

DCC-CR operates following a four-tier structure:
  1. DCC-CR Personnel: Comprising the Director and staff members, responsible for managing the Centre’s activities, coordinating communication and outreach, and steering the scientific scope of our actions.
  2. Programme Committee: Involving representatives from the Emilia-Romagna region, UNIBO, and the Coastal Ecosystems and Community Resilience CoP. They shape annual plans, report CoP activities, and provide advice.
  3. International Advisory Board: Offering guidance and approving yearly plans.
  4. Partner Alliance Network Board: A coordination body bringing together representatives from DCC-CR, CMCC, and Deltares to align strategic priorities, foster synergies, and support joint initiatives within the Partner Alliance Network.

Our collaborative network extends to Decade Actions, funders, and others. We are aligned with the UN Ocean Decade and collaborate closely with UNESCO-IOC. Our headquarters are at the University of Bologna, and we are funded by the Emilia-Romagna region.

Partners Alliance Network

In 2025, DCC-CR strengthened its capacity by creating the DCC-CR Partners Alliance Network, featuring Deltares and Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC) Foundation as contributors endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade.
Together, these partnerships will provide enhanced expertise, resources, and innovative solutions for coastal resilience, enabling DCC-CR to achieve its strategic goals more efficiently and impactfully.
These partnerships reinforce DCC-CR’s efforts to provide transformative solutions for coastal resilience, fully aligned with the objectives of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
