The fourth and final day of the in-person week of the “Sustainable Coastal Growth and Resilience” course opened with the last round of individual student presentations. Participants, both in-person and online, showcased the coastal resilience plans they had developed throughout the course. These projects reflected real-world challenges and required an integration of risk assessment, enabling technologies, and innovative strategies for critical infrastructure.
After the presentations, the Evaluation Committee met behind closed doors to assess the projects. The evaluation focused not only on the technical content and completeness of the proposals but also on the participants’ ability to integrate the similarities and differences that emerged during the course — offering valuable insights for future developments.
The afternoon session featured a collective reflection on the main takeaways from the week, where students shared experiences, lessons learned, and ideas for future applications.
The day ended with the official closing ceremony and the delivery of participation and ISO-certified course certificates — a celebration of a vibrant international week of learning, dialogue, and collaboration.
The in-person training week will officially conclude tomorrow with a field visit to Rimini, offering participants a final opportunity to connect course content with real-world coastal resilience initiatives.
