The Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience will take part in the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC-3), held in Nice from 9 to 13 June 2025, contributing to several high-level events and discussions.
Vassiliki Kourafalou, DCC-CR’s Chief Scientific Officer, will represent the Centre in a series of key engagements:
9 June – Roundtable on “Solution-driven Ocean Research” hosted by the German Marine Research Alliance aboard RV Meteor
11 June – High-Level Blue Economy Networking and Knowledge Voyage on RV Meteor, followed by the Ocean Decade Forum at the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen
11 June: Ocean Decade Forum – Ambition, Action, Impact at the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen
12 June – UNOC-3 Blue Zone side event aboard the Staatsrad Lehmkuhl vessel, where DCC-CR achievements will be presented
On 13 June, DCC-CR will also contribute to the “Coastal Challenges” session at the European Digital Ocean Pavilion (INSPIRE area), alongside CoastPredict and CMCC. Dr. Giovanni Coppini will highlight coastal digital twin technologies and modelling solutions supporting coastal adaptation.
DCC-CR’s presence at UNOC-3 underscores its commitment to science-based solutions and inclusive dialogue on coastal resilience within the Ocean Decade framework.
