The first day of ECCA2025—Europe’s leading conference on climate adaptation—officially opened today at the Palacongressi of Rimini. Organised by the CMCC Foundation in the framework of the Horizon Europe project MAGICA, the event gathers over 500 experts, policymakers, and innovators to explore how to accelerate adaptation through research, policy, and action.

The DCC-CR joins the international community in this key European moment, actively contributing to the dialogue on coastal resilience. With the conference theme “Smarter, Faster and More Systemic Adaptation”, today's opening plenary featured interventions from ESA, CINEA, the Italian Ministry of the Environment, and the Emilia-Romagna Region, alongside CMCC’s top scientists and institutional partners.

As we move into the next sessions, the DCC-CR continues its commitment to supporting science-based coastal adaptation across communities, policies, and generations.
