The Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM26) will take place from 22 to 27 February 2026 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow, United Kingdom. The meeting provides a high-level forum for discussing scientific progress and emerging priorities related to ocean observing, prediction, climate adaptation, and sustainable coastal management.

The DCC-CR and CoastPredict convened a session

Resilient Coasts: Assessing and Managing Ocean-Related Risks

Primary Chair
Nadia Pinardi, University of Bologna; Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC), Italy

Co-chairs
Alejandro Jose Souza, CINVESTAV-IPN
Moninya Roughan, University of New South Wales

Student/Early Career Chair
Saviour Udo-Akuaibit, University of Calabar

The session showcases advanced techniques for detecting and forecasting coastal risks, spanning pollution events, marine heatwaves, extreme weather phenomena, and compound multi-hazard scenarios. Presentations highlight the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence, cost-effective observation systems, and new approaches to equitable cloud-based data access and modelling infrastructures.
