The Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience is pleased to announce that the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon has formally joined the DCC-CR Partner Alliance Network (PAN), following the official endorsement by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO).

The endorsement recognises Hereon’s contribution to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development as a significant milestone in advancing collaborative, science-based solutions for coastal resilience. This formal recognition helps Hereon contribute to the Ocean Decade and strengthens its place in the global network of endorsed initiatives.
Including Hereon in the DCC-CR PAN is a key step in strengthening our network of strategic partners dedicated to coastal resilience through interdisciplinary research, innovation, and knowledge exchange. The Partner Alliance Network was established to bring together leading institutions and initiatives aligned with the DCC-CR mission, fostering collaboration across science, policy, and practice to address complex coastal challenges.
Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon is a German research centre specialising in coastal and climate systems, with a strong focus on understanding dynamic coastal processes, developing advanced modelling approaches, and supporting sustainable adaptation strategies in response to climate change. Through its Institute of Coastal Systems – Analysis and Modeling, Hereon contributes cutting-edge expertise in hydrodynamics, data assimilation, and coastal risk assessment.
By joining the DCC-CR PAN, Hereon strengthens the network's ability to deliver impactful contributions to the Ocean Decade, supporting the development of resilient coastal communities and ecosystems worldwide.
