Nadia Pinardi to Join Panel on Coastal Resilience at Vatican Climate Summit

The Vatican Pan-European Climate Resilience Summit will host a session on coastal resilience on 29 August, featuring DCC-CR Director Nadia Pinardi among its panelists.

Professor Nadia Pinardi, Director of the Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience (DCC-CR), will be among the panelists at the upcoming Vatican Pan-European Climate Resilience Summit, taking place on 29 August 2025.

She will participate in the session “Coastal Resilience (North Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean)”, scheduled from 11:20 to 12:20. The panel will be moderated by Costas Papanicolas, President Emeritus of the Cyprus Institute, and will include representatives from regional governments, scientific institutions, and youth organizations.

The session is designed to explore coastal resilience strategies in different European sea basins, highlighting leadership and expertise aligned with the MAST principles: Mitigation, Adaptation, and Societal Transformation.The event reflects growing attention to climate action at regional and local levels, especially in coastal areas most exposed to the effects of climate change.
