The third and final day of ECCA 2025 offered a rich programme of sessions and exchanges focused on advancing the theme “Smarter, Faster and More Systemic Adaptation.”

Throughout the day, participants engaged in a range of sessions exploring critical dimensions of climate adaptation, including the use of digital technologies, nature-based solutions, innovative financing, and the integration of scientific evidence into policy and planning. The discussions highlighted the urgent need for cross-sectoral collaboration and scalable, science-informed action.
The conference concluded with a high-level closing plenary, featuring distinguished speakers from the scientific and policy communities. Among them, Professor Nadia Pinardi, Director of the Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience, contributed an insightful intervention on the importance of integrated coastal resilience strategies and early warning systems, emphasising the link between oceanographic research and decision-making for coastal communities.
A convivial networking dinner was held the evening before, in the beautiful setting of Rockisland Rimini, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange reflections and strengthen professional ties in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere by the sea.
As ECCA 2025 draws to a close, the momentum generated throughout the three days will continue to inspire collaborative efforts across Europe and beyond in building resilience to climate change.
