October 28th marked the opening of the workshop “Resilient Shores: Coastal Futures Through Natural, Artificial, and Collective Intelligence” at Biennale Architettura 2025 in Venice.
Bringing together leading voices from science, architecture, technology, and coastal communities, the first day set a powerful stage for advancing research and innovation on coastal resilience. Through insightful keynote interventions on natural, collective, and artificial intelligence, experts explored how nature-based solutions, digital tools, and community knowledge can converge to shape adaptive and sustainable coastal habitats.
This event — co-organized by CMCC, DCC-CR and DCO Connecting People with the Ocean — demonstrates the power of joint efforts to address the complex challenges posed by climate change and sea level rise. By integrating multiple forms of intelligence and expertise, we can accelerate the development of effective strategies to safeguard and strengthen our coastal futures.
Tomorrow, the workshop will continue with in-depth discussions, further exploring shared approaches and perspectives to advance collective action for resilient coasts.
