CIRI Aerospace (CIRI AERO) mainly carries out its activities in the Forlì area at the two main offices in Forlì and Predappio. Taken together, these sites constitute a part of the Forlì-Cesena Technopole.
The High-technology clusters (TECNOPOLI) were launched through the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013 and are defined as "the set of infrastructures that host the industrial research structures and take the name of Technopoles of the Regional High Technology Network."
These are infrastructures dedicated to hosting industrial research and promoting collaborative research aimed at developing new high-tech companies through experimental development, technology transfer, and the implementation of programs aimed at enhancing scientific and technological resources towards the production system.
The TECNOPOLO host the research and technology transfer laboratories and favors the sharing of knowledge and resources, and they are established on a territorial basis and formed by research units organized on defined themes.
The TECNOPOLO of the University of Bologna is today the headquarters of the CIRI of the University of Bologna, as research laboratories that have received regional accreditation in accordance with the provisions of the regional guidelines on the matter.
For the Forlì TECNOPOLO the offices are located in Forlì and Predappio (FC). In particular:
Laboratories and research studios are hosted at the Forlì headquarters via Baldassarre Carnaccini n.10-12. The spaces used by CIRI AERO are located on the ground floor and first floor of the building and are shared with CIRI ICT (Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research on Information and Communication Technologies).
At the Predappio headquarters via Giorgio Zoli 63 there is the "VISITORS CENTER", as a building dedicated to research studies and meeting rooms. This site is adjacent to the real estate complex called "Gallerie Caproni" currently the headquarters of the Fluid Dynamics Laboratory of the Department of Industrial Engineering for the realization of the "Cyclops project".
CIRI AERO is also hosted in the offices of some departments of the University of Bologna on the basis of specific agreements aimed at sharing spaces and equipment.
The administrative headquarters of CIRI AERO is instead located at the University via Ugo Foscolo n. 7 in Bologna. The activity is carried out by the High Technology Network Sector of the University's Innovation Area.
