Muse-unveiling workshop May 5-7, 2025 University of Bologna

The Unveiling the Environmental Heritage of University Museums (Muse-unveiling) project aims to create two virtual exhibitions of university collections across Europe on environmental heritage and contested heritage in university museums, through the involvement of students and other cultural stakeholders. This face-to-face workshop will take place in Bologna, with the involvement of Una-Her-Doc students; in coincidence with the Erasmus BIP Museums and new challenges: virtual technologies, societal responsibility and environmental sustainability.

Monday, May 5

Tuesday, May  6

• 9:30 - Museo San Colombano, Via Parigi, 5 – Bologna
  Visit, lectures and other activities curated by Catalina Vicens (Curator of the Museo San Colombano), Michele Ducceschi (University of Bologna) and Mattew Hamilton (Doctoral student, University of Bologna)
• 14.00-16.00 - Department of Economics Auditorium: lectures for the Erasmus BIP students participating in the workshop Museums and the new challenges: virtual technologies, societal responsibility, and environmental sustainability.
• 14:00-14:45 - Henna Sinisalo (University of Helsinki): Exhibiting the utilization of marginalized groups in research: Ethical reflections based on the collections of the Helsinki University Museum Flame.
• 15:00-15:4 - Ines Matres (University of Helsinki): Rapid and urgent collecting in time of crisis. Reflexions about COVID-19 documentation in Finland with emphasis on research use of materials and involvement of children and youth
