Applying Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education

Self-training programme for Professors

This programme aims at supporting and guiding Professors wishing to explore, in a conscious and non‑prescriptive way, the potential of AI across the different phases of teaching:

  • Course programme design
  • Support during teaching activities
  • Assessment

This programme also aims at promoting a more reflective, active, and student‑centred approach to teaching through a reference framework, practical examples, and operational suggestions that can be adapted to different disciplines.

The approach this programme wants to promote complies with Unibo University’s policies, the Dublin Descriptors, and the principles of the University evaluation  and self-assessment (AVA) system.

Structure of the Programme

  • Introductory webinar
An online session providing a general overview, on the 20th of February 2026, from 11:00 to 13:00 am, presented by:

Prof. Filippo Andreatta, Director of the CTL

Prof. Lucia Maini, coordinator of the Methodologies and Tools for Teaching Innovation section of the CTL

Staff from the Educational Technology for Teaching Innovation Unit of CESIA, who will illustrate the AI tools made available to UNIBO faculty members.

  • Three in‑person workshops, in order to encourage dialogue among teachers working within similar disciplinary contexts.
These meetings will be coordinated by professors of the CTL working group on artificial intelligence, who will act as facilitators in order to support peer collaboration.
In order to guarantee adequate participation across each of the five teaching macro‑areas, two editions of the program are planned, involving approximately 60 participants per macro‑area (Humanities Area, Social Studies Area, Technological and Scientific Area, Medical Health Area)

  • Final webinar, online (date to be defined).
