Add activities to your programme which are essential in today's world: activities about developing communication, organisational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
The University offers you various ways to take part in them, and each one is designed to suit your objectives.
Transversal skills represent a person's aptitude in the workplace. These skills facilitate your relationships with others, allow you to solve problems and manage your work with greater awareness. Unlike technical skills, which are specific to a particular sector or field of activity, transversal skills are applicable in any professional and personal context.
You can take courses and acquire these transferable skills at the University of Bologna. Courses involve active participation, interaction with lecturers and other students, as well as the practical application of knowledge.
These skills are not certified through Credits (like ECTS) but through Open Badges, an internationally recognised digital certificate that you can include in your CV, in order to enhance your professional profile.
You will be able to register from the 4th to the 25th of February 2026 by using your university credentials (@studio.unibo.it) through the link "Registration and Calendar" that you can find in every course tab.
Course are delivered online through the “Virtuale” platform, in synchronous or non-synchronous mode. The can last from 6 to 8 or to 12 hours.
All courses will be delivered from the 1st of February to the 26th of February 2026.
Calendars and information about the courses will be published by Professors through Virtuale in every course page.
MOOCs for self-training: online courses that you can attend autonomously because they are always available
They include video-lessons, interactive modules and self-evaluation tests, aiming at acquiring tools and skills that are useful for groupwork management, for effective communication, critical thinking and activity planning.
They are perfect for students who want to enhance their skills in an independent and flexible way, by choosing subjects that are more consistent with their learning objectives.
Micro-credentials
Within the Lifelong Learning Initiative of the European Union, new formats such as microcredentials have been developed in order to foster the development of skills that are up to date and that can be used in the job marked in a flexible way. Micro-credentials certify learning results of students that have attended short courses. Evaluation methods follow clear and specific criteria. Micro-credential certification include the course content, the evaluation methods and the name of the organisation who provided it.
The University of Bologna is going to launch a test for a Programme catalogue that includes micro-credential programmes. More details will be soon published.
