The DCC-CR team is expanding, and we are excited to announce two new opportunities to join our office. You have the chance to collaborate with us and contribute to the advancement of the DCC-CR's mission and the Ocean Decade. We are looking for a Programme Manager and a Fellow Researcher who will be responsible for implementing teaching modules for the course 'Resilient Coastal Business Models.'

 

Programme Manager position

The programme manager will support the Director and the Chief Scientist with the following responsibilities:

  • provides support in the planning and implementation of activities/processes for a wide and highly complex component of the Center’s initiatives, including the needs of the Programme Committee.
  • Assists with the coordination of Programmes/Projects planning and preparation; takes necessary action to ensure project documents are completed and submitted to relevant parties for approval
  • Supports the monitoring and evaluation of Programmes/Projects, by categorising, updating,tracking and analysing data related to Programmes/Projects; carries out periodic status reviews, identifies issues and initiates necessary follow-up actions.
  • Prepares Programme/Project summaries, coordinates the review and clearance process,and collaborates with editors and translation services to finalise and publish reports.
  • Acts as the central point of contact for the strategic implementation of DCC-CR activities,involving extensive liaison with various organisational units to initiate requests, obtain necessary approvals, process and follow-up on administrative actions and resolve issues related to the implementation of DCC-CR objectives, e.g. recruitment and appointment ofpersonnel, travel arrangements for invited people.
  • Prepares, maintains and updates files (electronic and paper) and internal databases; designs and produces a range of periodic and ad-hoc reports, statistical tables, graphic content, and other background materials/notes to facilitate inspections and other reviews.
  • Supports the organization of DCC-CR meetings, reservations and logistics.
  • Actively collaborates with the other members of the Centre and fulfils any other assigned duties as required.
  • Follows the work plan and regularly updates on the outcomes and advancements of tasks,ensuring timely preparation of documents.

Fellowship for the Development and Implementation of Teaching modules for the course "Resilient coastal business models"

The candidate will work on coordinating the development of training modules for an international continuing education and professional training course for the Ocean Decade Centre for Coastal Resilience. Topics covered in the training course will include:

  • Understand and analyze resilient coastal business models
  • Understand coastal climate, processes and impacts on human health, settlements,infrastructure and ecosystems
  • Develop skills for coastal risk management and adaptation to climate change.
  • Concepts of resilience, circular economy and digital society
  • Educate on existing new products/services along the ocean value chain and their use for coastal applications

Activities

The work will consist in co-planning the training, from the contents to the implementation(e-learning platform and exercise and presence modules). The selected candidate will have to act as tutor for the teaching modules that will be decided together with the specific teacher. The selected candidate will also have to engage students in weekly discussions during the training course which is expected to be a total of one month probably twice a year.

The selection is open to candidates in possession of the following qualification:

  • Master Degree or equivalent title in Management engineering, Energy and nuclear engineering, Mechanical engineering, Environmental engineering, Economics, Adult and continuing education, Management, Political science, Environmental and land sciences, Civil engineering, Environmental and cultural economics, Naval engineering with appropriate scientific and professional curriculum.

Competences/requirements laid down for candidates:

  • English proficiency at C1 level or higher.

Candidates must possess the admission requirements on the deadline for submission of applications laid down in this call. Candidates who do not posses the admission requirements will not be considered.
