The Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience actively participated in the European Ocean Days 2025, held from 3rd to 7th March in Brussels. This high-level event brought together policymakers, scientists, and stakeholders to shape the future of Europe’s ocean governance.
DCC-CR Director, Prof. Nadia Pinardi, played a pivotal role in the discussions during Day 5 – Marine Knowledge for the Ocean Pact, contributing her expertise on the critical role of data and scientific knowledge in shaping sustainable ocean policies. Her intervention underscored the need for advanced tools and integrated data systems to support informed decision-making.
Additionally, Elisabetta Maini, representative of the Emilia-Romagna Region, which provides strategic funding to DCC-CR, was a panelist in Day 3 – Fisheries and Oceans Dialogues: Help Design the European Ocean Pact. She highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in shaping the European Ocean Pact and emphasized Emilia-Romagna’s commitment to supporting innovative approaches to marine sustainability.
