The second edition of the Co-Growth training course is now open for applications. This fully online program focuses on coastal resilience in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience is pleased to announce that applications are now officially open for the second edition of the Sustainable Coastal Growth and Resilience (Co-Growth) course.
Building on the success of its first edition, this new training program will be delivered fully online and will focus on the specific needs and priorities of the Asia-Pacific region. The course offers an in-depth exploration of coastal resilience concepts and tools that support sustainable development, help protect coastal communities, and strengthen preparedness for natural hazards and climate change impacts.
The course will run from 2 June to 11 August 2026 and will combine self-paced learning modules, interactive activities, and synchronous sessions with international experts. Participants will gain knowledge and practical skills to understand coastal hazards, apply enabling technologies, assess environmental impacts, and design effective resilience solutions for coastal systems and infrastructure.
This edition of the course is jointly coordinated by an international partnership including:
the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China (SIOMNR)
the National Marine Data and Information Service (NMDIS), Regional Training Centre China of the OceanTeacher Global Academy
the Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience
The course is designed primarily for early-career ocean professionals and scientists, as well as practitioners working in coastal management, environmental consulting, marine services, and public agencies across the Asia-Pacific region.
To apply, candidates should meet the following main requirements:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field (such as environmental sciences, marine sciences, coastal engineering, urban planning, political science, economics, or related disciplines) or at least five years of relevant professional experience
Professional affiliation with an institution involved in ocean science, marine services, or coastal management
Proficiency in English
Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital learning environments
Participation in the course is free of charge, and places are limited.
