The 1st Assessment Report of the Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise, co-chaired by Professor Nadia Pinardi, Director of the DCC for Coastal Resilience, and Bart van den Hurk, has been published in the Copernicus journal State of the Planet. This significant scientific synthesis offers critical insights into projected sea level rise (SLR) across Europe, exploring its impacts, adaptation strategies, and policy recommendations. It is a vital resource for European policymakers, researchers, and the public, aiming to address the multifaceted challenges posed by SLR.
The report’s launch was marked by a milestone webinar attended by nearly 300 participants. The event featured presentations from the report’s lead authors, who synthesized two years of extensive research. Active audience participation, including engaging questions, highlighted the report’s importance and urgency. Professor Nadia Pinardi contributed to the discussions, underscoring the DCC's commitment to fostering actionable knowledge in the field of coastal resilience.
Accompanying the report, the Knowledge Hub has also published a Summary for Policymakers, designed to translate complex findings into accessible, actionable insights. This brochure is tailored to support informed decision-making for policymakers and coastal stakeholders, offering practical tools for navigating SLR challenges and fostering resilience.
