A case study of two dredging projects discussing differences for EIA

By Marie Pendle, HR Wallingford

Abstract

The case study looks at two dredging projects of similar magnitudes in different environments.  The dredging projects took place in London, UK and Darwin, Australia. The study examines how environmental impact assessment is affected by different environments, may produce differing outcomes in terms of impact significance and require different mitigation strategies.
