The final workshop of the NEST 2020 capacity building project

After six interesting online events and 16 presentations on different topics related to sustainability and sustainable tourism development, it is time for the final workshop of our NEST 2020 project for 2023. This event will have a hybrid character with the possibility to follow it both online and in presence. It will be held at the Rimini Campus of the University of Bologna on 13 June from 9 to 17h CET in Alberti 4. The workshop will include a variety of speakers on topics related to sustainable tourism development that deal with nature-based solutions, management, community engagement, tourist behavior, and others. 

Participants are both professors and PhD candidates from CAST and the University of Bologna, University of Trento and other institutions collaborating in the framework of this project. Workshop will be coordinated by prof. Laura Vici of CAST and will be introduced by CAST director, prof. Andrea Guizzardi. Network of Education on Sustainable Tourism (NEST) is a capacity building project developed by the Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism (CAST) of the University of Bologna, in collaboration with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). This year, project activities will be developed in collaboration with SUSTEEMS PhD programme and Department of Economics of the University of Trento. The project aims at improving skills in the field of sustainable tourism development of the public and private sector operators from 13 developing countries in Latin America, Africa, the Mediterranean and Asia.
