Beach identity: the fruition and management of a beach as a social and economical practice to foster the community identity

This project started from the believing that the management of the beach in Riccione and related know-how constitute an intangible heritage for this place. In particular, this job highlitghted the value of safeguarding practices that allowed the economical exploitation of the beach and the simultaneous respect of the environment. The research was carried out in four steps: identification of the intangible heritage; promotion of the heritage to foster awareness at a local, national and international level; listing of safeguarding practices; promotion of a participatory model to enhance community’s consent.
