ATRIUM – Architecture of Totalitarian Regimes of the 20th Century in Urban Management

research

The architecture remaining from 20th century totalitarian regimes could, from the wounds of a terrible, indecorous past, become an important resource for local development, if managed and enhanced in the context of a transnational cultural route (in line with the requirements of Council of Europe resolution n° 12/07), corroborated with cultural tourism products.
ATRIUM was created to approach this as yet largely unexplored opportunity. Around this new cultural route, new services and new jobs can be created (hospitality, tourist guides, monuments, restoration , etc...) especially for young people and women.
