research, third mission
By using a MDT Telecom data-set - available thanks to an agreement between the University of Bologna and Telecom – this project aimed at the development of innovative tools for the analysis of urban mobility. The output was a sperimental data set (not available on market) that registered a number of anonymous GPS positions taken from a sample of smartphones using the 4G network in the considered area. The data registration allowed to understand geo-referenced paths in the streets of Rimini and to count smartphones’ presence in an area during different times of the day. The project was carried out in the period of Ferragosto (15th August) which is the most common vacantion time for Italian people.
Period of the project: 2020-2021
