Today at ECOMONDO, we engaged in insightful discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders, each bringing unique perspectives on the day’s theme: the role of education in building resilient communities. Representatives from across the educational spectrum shared thoughts on the responsibilities and evolving needs within education to foster coastal resilience—a vision strongly tied to our motto, "Better informed, better prepared."
In the roundtable, we welcomed PhD students from the University of Bologna and high school students from Liceo Einstein, whose presence enriched a dynamic exchange of ideas. Together, we explored how educational communities can actively shape young people's understanding of resilience and how science’s role in coastal awareness needs to be emphasized early. This intersection between educational systems and resilience-building efforts demonstrated the power of an inclusive educational approach in preparing communities to address ocean hazards and environmental shifts.
The discussions underscored the need for equitable education worldwide—a strategic goal at DCC-CR, as we believe accessible, high-quality education is essential to fostering global resilience and readiness.
Looking ahead: Tomorrow, Day 4, will focus on "Challenges and the Way Forward in Coastal Resilience." Join us in person at Pavilion B8, Stand 213, or online for another day of enriching conversations!
