In the twentieth century, literature maintained its strategic role in the formation and development of the European publishing systems and, in particular, of the Italian one. The tried and tested way of the series, which has always been the pivot of the catalogs of publishing houses, the advent of new professionals in the book - such as the literary agent, the editor, the scholar-publisher -, the growing links with the search for internal consensus, with foreign policy and extra-editorial economic powers, together with other factors contribute to redesigning the publishing landscape in our country.

The series of meetings was aimed at students, scholars as much as those curious on the subject. In fact, it intended to compare some voices of the contemporary critical panorama, called to make us reflect on the renewed communication of ideas through the book, with an eye projected to the current frontiers of editorial broadcasting.
