I buoni libri

Workshop on printing dedicated to Aldo Manuzio, curated by Bunker, Rossella Ruggeri, Paolo Tinti, Officina Typo, Bottega dei Gozzi.

  • Date: 18 SEPTEMBER 2015  from 16:00 to 19:00

  • Type: Workshop

The workshop was organized on the occasion of the Modena Philosophy Festival The good books. It was a creative laboratory experience that took its cue from the publishing model proposed at the dawn of manual printing by Aldo Manuzio - the five hundredth anniversary of his death in 2015 - and still practiced today by artisans of the contemporary book with a high rate of creativity.

The laboratory emphasized what is needed to produce the manually printed book, exemplified the gestation phases and accompanied the participants to the production of a "portable" book (as Manutius defined the pocket book of his conception) which presents an original content: aphorisms on keywords inspired by Aldus Manutius and created for the occasion by Robert Darnton, Tullio Gregory and Luciano Perondi.

At the end participants were able to take the valuable result of their work with them.
