AITR is a non-governmental and non-profit association; it has no profit-making intentions, either direct or indirect. AITR is inspired by ethical and democratic principles and so promotes and coordinates activities that support a tourism that is responsible, sustainable and ethical. It aims to raise awareness among citizens, promote lifestyles and a consumerism that is fair to all involved.

DESCRIPTION

CAST takes part in the activities of SISTUR, the Italian Society of Tourism Science through the participation of its members to the network. SISTUR was established in February 2009 and brings together university professors and tourism experts with the goal of facilitating the in-depth analysis and distribution of tourism science studies, both at a national and international scale, stimulating research and training.

  • IT.A.CÀ migrants and travelers: Festival of Responsible Tourism

DESCRIPTION

“IT.A.CÀ migrants and travelers: Festival of Responsible Tourism” is organized and promoted by YODA, COSPE, NEXUS Emilia Romagna and AITR (Italian Association for Responsible Tourism) and its network include about 100 national and international participiants.

 

 The Festival follows some national and regional guidelines to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry. In particular, every edition promotes local tourism paths through events held in different cities and provinces of the region Emilia-Romagna, thus developing a unique image of the territory. Sustainability and responsibility are the main ideals.
