Are you a walking trail lover? Help us shape the future of slow tourism!

Take part in the research on walking trails in Friuli Venezia Giulia and between Emilia-Romagna and Toscana.

The Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism-CAST, in collaboration with Terre di mezzo Editore and Romea Strata, is promoting an important scientific research project to measure the economic and social impact of walking trails and slow tourism on the territory.
The objective of the study is to analyze local development linked to sustainable tourism, with a specific focus on two amazing Italian itineraries:
  • The Romea Strata in Friuli Venezia Giulia
  • The St. Francis Way (Il Cammino di San Francesco) from Rimini to La Verna (between Emilia-Romagna and Toscana)

If you have walked along these trails, your firsthand experience is essential to us!

Why is your voice important?

Help us understand how to enhance these historical locations and improve the management of tourist routes. It only takes a few minutes to make a difference: the more data we collect, the more accurate the results will be to protect and grow the walking culture in Italy.
