The CIRI-MAM is the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research of the University of Bologna, operating in the fields of Advanced Mechanics and Materials. It is a facility established by the University of Bologna as part of the Tecnopoli project, developed by the Emilia-Romagna Region under the Regional Operational Programme of the European Regional Development Fund.
The CIRI-MAM is organized into six Operating Units (UO), each characterized by specific expertise and equipment:
- UO1 Automation, robotics and mechatronics
- UO2 Advanced materials and applications for Marine engineering
- UO3 Advanced materials for design and photonic applications
- UO4 Structured and/or composite materials for advanced applications
- UO5 Virtual prototyping and experimental modeling of mechanical systems
