The TEXTL Centre (Textual Explorations of Materiality, Visuality and Literature) promotes a study of literature in a materialistic and multi/intermedia perspective. It is structured in three main macro-areas of investigation
- multimediality/intermediality (iconotexts, adaptations, novelisations, literary exhibitions, literature and other media, multimodality)
- materiality of literature (media channels and supports, contexts, typographic unconscious, paratexts, the book as an object, new media spaces)
- literature and material culture (objects in literature, literature and cultural institutions, literary tourism, house museums).
TEXTL also aims to foster exchanges and collaborations with other research groups, networks, organisations and institutions working on similar topics.
