Training programme for incoming researchers

The training project aimed at newly hired researchers at Unibo is reproposed in its fifth edition for the year 2023, involving type A and B researchers hired during the years 2022 and 2023. 

The initiative being proposed in 2023 is designed to promote awareness of the giudelines, organisational structures and services provided by our University for research, teaching and the third mission, and consists of organising a day with four sessions of presentations: two on research, one on teaching and one on the organisation of the University and the legal and economic profiles of the position of the fixed-term researcher. The meeting, in the presence of the Rector and the University governance, will be held on the 12th of September from 9:00am to 5:00pm in the Aula Absidale of Santa Lucia, Via de' Chiari, 25/A - Bologna.

9:00am-9:30am - Institutional Greetings and Governance Presentation 

9:30am-11:00am Session I: University and staff organisation 

  • Organisation, governance and academic bodies of the University; organisation of the Central Administration.
  • Legal and economic profiles of fixed-term researchers.
  • Inclusion and well-being in the workplace.


11:00am-11:30am Break 

11:30am-1:00pm Session II: Research

  • Core values of the research.
  • Support services for the development of project proposals and grant management; European planning and thematic groups at the University; incentives and awards.
  • University Funding.
  • Equipment and infrastructure: access and sharing.
  • Specific topics for research in healthcare and in collaboration with hospitals.


1:00pm-2:30pm Free time for lunch

2:30pm-3:30pm Session III: Research, third mission and internationalisation

  • Open Science: research publications and data; University Research Evaluation Committee (VRA), and Research Quality Evaluation (VQR).
  • Sponsored research and collaborative research with companies (third party); intellectual property protection; entrepreneurship.
  • Supporting the development and enhancement of public engagement and development cooperation activities.
