At the moment, virtual and augmented reality technologies are used as part of learning processes in a range of very different fields, and at the University of Bologna they currently include science, medicine, and engineering, where immersive experience is guided by teachers for practice, reflection and assessment purposes.

The Augmented Alma project will focus on two lines of intervention and action that will support and at the same time expand the current processes by introducing new projects. On the one hand, the plan is to analyse and develop technology infrastructures supporting immersive learning; on the other, over the next three years the Learning and Teaching Centre will launch information and training actions aimed at disseminating knowledge about available experimentations, increasing the understanding and awareness about possible learning applications, and testing new practices.

The proposed activities will be shared with Heads of Departments, Degree Programme Directors, teachers and researchers involved in developing experimentations for learning purposes.
