The core objectives of the Digital Innovation Management Pioneering Artificial Intelligence and Change Technology - DIMPACT Research Center are related to research. The Center also promotes research-informed management education and initiatives with societal impact.
Research
- Develop disciplinary research on Digital Transformation (DT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the disciplinary clusters of the Department of Management, in order to generate high-quality scientific outputs.
- Consolidate the existing research seminar series on DT and AI in Management (DAIM) and promote PDW, PDS, reading groups, and national and international conferences.
- Develop inter-disciplinary research opportunities through the leadership of and participation in national and international projects on DT and AI, with the objective of attracting research funding.
- Create an observatory on DT and AI for Business, to monitor market trends and best managerial practices related to the digital transformation of business activities.
Education
- Improve our PhD programs (Management and Public-GoMaP) through the development and introduction of doctoral courses on information management and digital transformation management.
- Contribute to developing courses and degrees for the Department of Management.
- Promote professional training through courses and seminars aimed at managers and board members, in collaboration with various partners, starting with the Bologna Business School.
Societal Impact
- Place DIMPACT in the beating heart of the Emilia-Romagna "data valley", developing and consolidating relationships with regional policy makers and making it a point of reference for multiple stakeholders (Art-Er; Bi-Rex; Cineca; Enea; Ifab; Infn-Cnaf; Ior; Ecmwf; Tecnopolo Manifattura, etc.).
- Create multi-stakeholder working tables on DT/AI opportunities/challenges, positioning itself as a privileged interlocutor at an international level for companies, public administrations, and public regulatory actors, with the aim of generating a significant social, cultural, and economic impact at a local, national, and global level.
- Develop an impact research model capable of attracting resources and promoting partnerships with companies to apply the developed models to real cases, encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices. In particular, annual research focused on a specific technology and its business applications and managerial impact can be conducted.
- Promote initiatives in schools and local communities to raise awareness of the potential of DT and AI to improve the economy, society, and environmental sustainability.
