The Place of Children’s Literature is a real place and at the same time it belongs to the dimension of the imagery.

It is located behind the Department of Education Sciences in Via Filippo Re nr. 6, next to the Mario Gattullo Library, and it is not only a home for books, stories, and tales, but also a workshop space: a space for reading and consultation, exchange, and participatory research.

The mission of the Place is to present itself as a third, intermediate, liminal space, a space that lies between the world of academic research and the world of child care services active in the area.
In this liminal space, processes of dialogue and exchange around children’s literature and the dynamics of accompanying children towards the world of literature and reading take place.
The Place of Children’s Literature houses a specialized collection of children’s literature: a collection of classics and contemporary works for children and adolescents, including novels, picture books, illustrated novels, poetry collections, photographic collections, fairy tale collections, graphic novels, and comics.

OPENING FOR CONSULTATION

The Place of Children’s Literature opens its doors to the University and the public for consultation of the collection’s texts, with the support and advice of Dr. Gabriele Brancaleoni and Dr. Elena Guerzoni.


Opening calendar for the period January-June 2026:

  • January 28th, from 10:30 to 12:30 am
  • February 18th and 25th , from 2pm to 4pm
  • March 4th and 18th, from 2pm to 4pm
  • April 22nd, from 2pm to 4pm
  • May 13th, 20th and 27th, from 2pm to 4pm
  • June 17th and 24th, from 2pm to 4pm
