People involved

Project description

The Far-Right Protest Observatory (FARPO) produces and houses data on protests organised by far-right parties, movements, and groups in Europe over the last twenty years. Amid rising far-right engagement in the streets in different parts of the globe – ranging from conventional to confrontational and violent activity –, this unprecedented data source addresses one of the pressing phenomena of our time, casting light on the evolution of nativist grassroots politics across time and space. Specifically, FARPO includes data on the location, date, initiator, and motive behind each protest in which the far right has been involved. Designed for students, researchers, decision-makers, civil society organizations and journalists, this comprehensive resource helps tracking and comparing far-right protest in contemporary democracies, rigorously and consistently.
