Tests for Erasmus+ Study programme

To participate in the Erasmus+ mobility for Studies call for applications, all candidates are required to assess their language skills.

Candidates may enroll for tests organized by the University of Bologna Language Centre (CLA) from 8 January 2026, 1:00 PM, Italian Time, to 17 January 2025, 1:00, Italian Time (subject to availability) via AlmaRM, the online platform.

The assessment tests will be held in person from 21 January 2026 to 4 February 2026 and registration is mandatory in order to take the language assessment test.

To register for the language tests, you must:

• log in to your AlmaRM profile with your institutional credentials.
• in the “Career Management” section, click on “Language Test”.
• select “Erasmus+ Mobility for Study” as the type of test.
• select the language or languages and finalise your booking.

You can choose the date and location of the test based on availability, while times are assigned automatically during booking. The booking is confirmed by email to your institutional email address.

Please note: the early assessment test session in November 2025 and the assessment test session in January/February 2026, scheduled for the Erasmus+ study call for applications for the 2026/27 academic year, are to be considered as a single session. It will be possible to take the test for a maximum of two languages and for each language chosen only once in total in the two sessions.

Only students who, in the November 2025 session:

• have not registered;
• have registered but have not shown up to take the test;
• have achieved level A1;
• have not achieved any level.

Therefore, those who take the test in November 2025 and obtain a level of A2 or higher will not be able to retake the test in January or February 2026 in the same language.

Those who take the language assessment test will only be automatically recognised as having passed the language proficiency requirement for their degree programme if they apply for the Erasmus+ study programme for the academic year 2026/27 and achieve or exceed the level required for proficiency in their degree programme.

Languages
Language assessments are available for the following languages: French, English, Portuguese, Spanish and German.
