Biobased and biodegradable Carbon Dot-Polymeric Nanofibrous Membranes for Solar-Assisted Water Remediation and Oil Spill Cleanup
Funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ITALY-ISRAEL COOPERATION (2020-2022)
The main objective of the bilateral BIODOT consortium is to develop a platform of innovative materials based on biopolymer nanofiber membranes (e.g. PLA, polyhydroxyalkanoates) functionalized with carbon dots (C-dots). These new “bening-by-design” materials will be applied to water purification, photocatalytic degradation of pollutants, and oil spill cleanup.
