Roberto Beneduce is an anthropologist and psychiatrist, professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Turin. He works on the anthropology of violence and memory, local knowledge of care, ethnopsychiatry and the condition of refugees and asylum seekers. After his psychiatric experience in Naples, he moved to Turin, where he founded the Frantz Fanon Center in 1996 and earned a doctorate in anthropology at EHESS (Paris) . Among his most recent writings: (with N. Gibson) Frantz Fanon, Psychiatry and politics, 2017; L'Histoire au corps. Mémoires indociles et archives du désordre dans les cultes de possession en Afrique, 2016; Archaeologies of Trauma. An anthropology of the underground, 2019 (second edition).
