According to the paradigm of intersectionality, different disadvantage factors contribute to the invisibility of some subjectivities and forms of oppression or subjugation, discrimination, and social exclusion. Among the most problematic dimensions are those of gender identity and sexual orientation, the impact of which is experienced at different levels in the urban context: in access to housing, concerning the use and enjoyment of public space as well as the resources present in a specific territory, thus influencing rights and the possibility of access to welfare services and tools. The project aims to investigate collaborative living experiences aimed at combating gender and sexual orientation discrimination and creating inclusive and empowerment-oriented communities.

Rapporti Corti is a four-year project selected by Con i Bambini. It could represent a model of socio-educational intervention in favor of minors aged 3/14 and their families who live in fragile conditions in a peripheral context characterized by a high rate of public housing in the Navile district of Bologna. The project aims to support a positive and structural change in the living environment of minors and families through the development of parenting skills and inclusive and composite social relationships, following a transitional logic. Within a partnership led by the social cooperative Società Dolce, our activities are dissemination, scientific support, monitoring, and short-term evaluation of the activities implemented and the results produced by the project actions.

The risk associated with hydro-meteorological extreme events influenced by climate change poses a challenge in complex socio-territorial systems characterized by inequalities, resulting in diverse impacts among social groups. Evaluating the effectiveness of adaptation actions requires local climate change information accessible to a broad audience of stakeholders. The SINTESI project (Synopsis of Coastal Extreme Events for Climate Adaptation in Emilia-Romagna) will develop storylines on extreme events and adaptation interventions, integrating them into an Atlas co-designed with the community, building an information exchange system based on multidisciplinary research on flood events. Research initiatives will unfold in a co-creation process to provide scientifically grounded information for community awareness, share project results, and enhance territorial resilience in the face of future flood events.

The output of this research records the evolution of the demand for housing and housing support and confirms some structural changes in the local housing welfare sector.

2016
This statistical-descriptive research outputs a report about three rankings of access to local housing welfare, all relating to 2015. The research involved the recognition of the reference legislation concerning access to some of the main instruments of local housing policy: public housing, public housing with controlled rents (Canone calmierato), the "Fondo locazioni"; the statistical description of the characteristics of the households of the rankings and a comparative reading of the data available regarding previous years, in particular, 2008 and 2009.

2018
The subject of the Report is the analysis of the need for housing, expressed in the territorial area of the Municipality of Bologna, about three of the main tools of housing welfare: public housing, public housing with controlled rent (Canone calmierato), and "Fondo Locazioni".

2021
The output of the research is a report that delves into some local housing policy tools and analyzes data relating to: i) The call for the Fondo Locazioni 2019; ii) The "bando a sportello"; iii) The call for contributions to support the rent for people in difficulty; iv) The ERP-11 ranking.

The research project aims to conduct a sociological investigation analyzing changes in the perception of risk associated with behaviors characterized by intense technological consumption and the use of online games, using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The research focus is particularly centered on consumption and utilization practices among adolescents within the current socio-cultural framework and the specific territory of the Municipalities of Unione Reno, Lavino, and Val Samoggia. The social context under investigation is currently experiencing rapid changes in consumption patterns, with highly diversified educational levels among young people of the same age, and the presence of cultural minority groups that may be subject to increased exposure to situations considered risky. This study aims to emphasize the development of digital consumption behaviors in response to the observed increase in access to such environments, particularly following the restrictions associated with the pandemic.

Porto 15 is a collaborative residence for young people under 35 in the historic center of Bologna. It is the first cohousing with an entirely public initiative, resulting from the recovery and following assignment at an agreed rent of 18 apartments within a building owned by ASP – City of Bologna. The research activity focused on the results produced by the experimentation regarding criticalities and potential, with a view to replicability and reproduction of the experience.

The research made it possible to identify a connection between territorial fragility and the spatial arrangement of public housing units, contributing to reflecting on the processes of peripheralization and residualization that today affect public housing districts, also included in the New General Urban Plan of Bologna.
