The Decade Collaborative Centre for Coastal Resilience is pleased to announce that Green Tides: Resilience Conversations, the Centre's official podcast, has been selected for the poster exhibition at CommOCEAN 2026, the International Marine Science Communication Conference, taking place in Bergen, Norway, from 2–3 September 2026.

CommOCEAN is the leading international conference dedicated to marine science communication, bringing together researchers, communication professionals, educators, policymakers and practitioners to exchange innovative approaches for engaging society with ocean science. The 2026 edition is held under the overarching theme "Communication for and within the UN Ocean Decade: Setting Sails for 2030". The conference programme places a strong emphasis on the role of communication in advancing the objectives of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the work of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC-UNESCO).

The DCC-CR contribution, entitled "Green Tides: The DCC-CR Podcast – A Strategic Tool for Communicating Coastal Resilience", will showcase the Centre's experience in using podcasting as a strategic communication tool to promote dialogue around coastal resilience, ocean science and the objectives of the Ocean Decade. The poster has been selected among the contributions that will be presented throughout the conference, offering delegates the opportunity to explore innovative communication initiatives and exchange best practices.

Launched by the DCC-CR, Green Tides: Resilience Conversations explores the scientific, social and policy dimensions of coastal resilience through conversations with international experts, researchers and practitioners. Each episode highlights emerging challenges, innovative solutions and collaborative actions supporting resilient coastal communities, while making complex scientific topics accessible to a broad audience and strengthening connections across the Ocean Decade community.

The selection of Green Tides for CommOCEAN 2026 represents an important recognition of the DCC-CR's commitment to innovative science communication and reinforces the Centre's contribution to promoting ocean literacy and public engagement in support of sustainable coastal resilience.
