Research

CLAN activities include experimental research on:

- organic/inorganic synthesis and physicochemical/structural characterization of chemical species

- self-assembly and characterization of supramolecular systems

- organization of molecular building blocks into solid films and materials

- analysis of static and dynamic properties of molecules, supermolecules and materials - with particular attention to photoinduced phenomena and processes - by means of physico-chemical techniques (e.g. spectroscopies and microscopies) and computational tools

- investigation of possible applications resulting from the interaction of light with the developed molecules, supermolecules and materials

Areas of interest for CLAN research are

- molecular switches, machines and motors

- photochromic and electrochromic systems

- (photo)catalysis

- supramolecular systems and devices

- nanocrystals and nanoparticles

- stimuli-responsive materials

- molecular logic
