Leonardo Andreoni received his laurea (MSC) in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials from the University of Bologna in 2019. He then joined the Clan laboratory as a PhD student in Nanoscience. His tasks in the project include the spectroscopic, photo physical and electrochemical characterisation of molecular and supramolecular systems.
PhD Student
Chiara received her MSc degree cum laude in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials in 2019 from the University of Bologna. In November of the same she started the PhD course in chemistry at the University of Bologna under the supervision of prof. Alberto Credi, thus joining the Clan laboratory. Chiara's research activity deals with the spectroscopic, photophysical and photochemical characterization of supramolecular systems.
PhD Student
Antonio received his MSc degree cum laude in Chemistry from the University of Ferrara in 2020. In November of the same year he joined the CLAN team as a PhD student in Chemistry, under the supervision of Prof. Serena Silvi. Antonio’s current research is focused on the spectroscopic characterization of supramolecular systems and photochromic materials.
PhD Student
Brian received a MSc in Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin in 2018. After a research period at BOKU University in Vienna, in October 2020 Brian joined the Clan team as an Early Stage Researcher in the frame of the ITN ArtMoMa network. He is also a PhD student in Chemistry at the University of Bologna. Brian's research activity is focused on the synthesis and characterisation of light-responsive molecular-based systems, motors and materials.
PhD Student
Nina received a MSc in Chemistry from the ITMO National Research University in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. Her thesis internship was carried out at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Nina started her activity in the Clan laboratory in February 2021, as an Early Stage Researcher in the ITN ArtMoMa network. She also follows the PhD course in Chemistry at the University of Bologna. Nina's research project is focused on the development of molecular devices and machines that can operate in compartmentalized systems.
PhD Student
Dalila received her bachelor from the University of Bari and then moved to Bologna for her master studies and graduated cum laude in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials in 2022. During her master thesis internship, under the supervision of Prof. Serena Silvi, she was involved in the synthesis of c[2] daisy chains and in their inclusion into polyurethane fibers by electrospinning.
Since November 2022 she joined the CLAN team as a PhD student of the doctoral degree in "photoinduced processes and technologies". Her research is focused on the photophysical, photochemical and electrochemical characterization of supramolecular pseudorotaxane complexes formed between photoactive axles and different types of macrocyclic guests. She is also interested in the spectroscopic characterization of photochromic compounds encapsulated within bilayer membranes.
PhD Student
Alessandro studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna and graduated cum laude in 2022. His thesis project dealt with the synthesis and characterization of mechanically planar chiral [2]rotaxanes and was carried out in the CLAN laboratories under the supervision of Dr. Stefano Corrà.
Since November 2022 he joined the CLAN team as a PhD student of the doctoral degree in "photoinduced processes and technologies". His research is focused on the synthesis of photochromic compounds and on the characterization of their photoinduced processes.
